COOK COUNTY TO IMPOSE MASSIVE CIGAR
AND TOBACCO TAX
PLEASE CALL EVERY REPRESENTATIVE AND VOICE YOUR OBJECTIONS! LEAVE MESSAGES THIS WEEKEND!
Cook County has proposed a massive tax on all tobacco products and will be voting Monday 11/14/11! The tax includes:
New tax of 60 cents per cigar
$1.20 per ounce on all pipe and cigarette tobacco
$1.20 per ounce on all hookah and smokeless tobacco
This has nothing to do with public health, but is a politically easy cash grab that unfairly and excessively targets cigar smokers.
PLEASE LEAVE MESSAGES AT ALL 17 OFFICES THIS WEEKEND AND TELL THEM
NO NEW TOBACCO TAXES!
